Judgereport / Dommer rapport Judgereport Czeck RR Specialty 11-12 September 2004 First I would like to thank the club for inviting me to judge your shows. It was a pleasure to judge your dogs during the weekend 11-12 september 2004. I would like to congratulate you with a well organized show, and the audience/handlers was very nice and it was a good atmosphere around the ring. On saturday I judged the bitches and i found several very nice bitches. I would like to point out Arca Waduru’s Kid which I put up as best bitch for the day. She was a well built, medium size with very good proportions and very good on the move –throughout a sound and beautiful bitch which was my favourite this day. On sunday I judged the males. The variation between the males was rather large with some very oversized dogs. Even though some of them moved very nice their size is a hindrance when it comes to endurance and agile. My winner this day was Ascot Alta Mirano who was a well balanced, strong, muscular dog with correct size. He was also my choice for Super BOB based on his elegance and soundness with no tendency toward massivness which I highly value in a Ridgeback. The different classes both saturday and sunday had very strong winners and these dogs would be in the top on other shows in Europe too. You had a lot of dogs with very good shoulder layback and rather good upper arm. Heads was throughout very good with very good proportions and very good muzzles. These qualities you must try to preserve and strengthen in your breeding. A lot of countries have severe problems regarding these issues. The hindquarters of some of your dogs need some improvment due to little angulation behind. Unfortunately there was some dogs that I judged both saturday and sunday that was anxious and some even didn’t allow me to touch them. This is a behaviour we don’t want to see in a Rhodesian Ridgeback and the owners must sozialice and train their dogs to be able to be handled and touched. If this behaviour is just lack of training it’s easy to adjust but if it comes out of the genes you have some problems and the breeders must take this into considerations in their future breeding plans. Finally I would like to mention the puppies that was entered. There was some very nice puppies which I hope will continue to mature the way they have done so far. There was one male puppy which differ from the others due to his very good construction and temperament – outgoing, independent and loved to show and all this made Stenanga Great G’s Chili best puppy both days. I which the club and the owners good luck in the future and I hope I will see some of your dogs sometime on my travels in Europe. Best regards
