Sosiale
aktiviteter og vennskap er viktig. Autorisert

Got my first ridgeback in 1985 - Loustigens Clever Kamba (with english ancestors). Bought in Sweden from Loustigens kennel - LouLou and Stig Petterson. All I wanted was a dog as companion and friend and someone to exercise with. As time went by, my interest in dogs, dog shows and breeding grew and as a result of that I got a lot of new friends with ridgebacks. As I learned to know the breed I became more and more fascinated.
Kamba had all the qualities of the breed and she was the reason
why I commited my life to ridgebacks. Unfortunately she was not
able to produce puppies. As a breeder we got the responsibility to take care of the breed
standard, not only sound in temperament but also excellent moving
and hunting capabilities. When selecting sire or dame for breeding
we must be honest and strict with ourself. One of the problems that
we -as breeders have- is that we don’t know enough about the background
of the dogs that we are using for breeding purpose. As a consequence
of that there may occur some surprises that we can’t foresee. Frankness
and honesty when giving information about litters is something that
I favour. If we all could do this it would be easier to make plans
for breeding. And I also hope that breeders can work together in
order to keep the best of the Ridgeback when breeding. I enjoy working with dogs and also to do something for this fabulous
breed. As Ridgeback owner and breeder I experience new things every day, so I have realized that I will never be fully "qualified"! I emphasize on the RR owners responsibility of bringing up and training a ridgeback. I'm always available for inquiries on the phone. Once a year I try to arrange a course, with emphasize on blood track and how to activate your RR. Social activities and friendship are important. Main task is to get the RR owners interested in using their dog in agility, obedience, conformation etc. I wanted to use Kamba as the kennel name but unfortunately this was already taken somewhere in Europe. Then I decided to look for something in Swahili and the result was Kamba Anatulinda which means Kamba - she who protects me/us. This is what I feel that Kamba has done in a dignified and self-confident way - as the Ridgeback’s are supposed to do. Autorisert
